acSellerant is a marketing agency defined by its clientele. We work exclusively with small to medium sized information technology (hardware, software and/or services) companies. These IT vendors and providers include:

  • equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
  • software developers (ISVs)
  • managed services providers (MSPs)
  • value-added resellers (VARs)
  • and systems integrators (SIs).

Why acSellerant?

Our clients and prospects don’t necessarily need a full time Marketing staff. At least not yet. By the time we’re done, they understand the power of Marketing. I know we’ve been successful when they offer me a job.

They need help in developing a marketing strategy and in executing it. We are ‘roll up our sleeves’ consultants. There are highly competent marketing consultants available who will advise you on what to do. Some will even tell you how to do it. But very few will do it for you.

Execution

MARKETING IS A PROCESS. It must be worked on consistently over time. If a marketing system is developed, launched, and given momentum, internal personnel can continue to execute it with little time and effort and the resulting ROI can be tremendous. Some outside entity must be engaged to develop the strategy and the system, to launch it and to give it the necessary momentum. That outside entity can be acSellerant.

Virtual Marketing Department

acSellerant acts as a virtual Marketing department for our clients. They typically have somewhere between two and twenty sales people with a sales manager who has a VP or Director title. There may be a person or two designated as Inside Sales, Marketing or Sales Support, but they don’t have the bandwidth to develop marketing strategies, turn the strategies into actionable plans, and execute those marketing plans.

Bob works with Sales management and the C suite to develop a strategy; he then creates messaging and textual content, and has a retinue of subcontractors to deliver analytics, graphic design, coding, search engine optimization, printing, signage, trade show booths, video, etc. All subcontractors are vetted and their work is guaranteed by acSellerant. This allows you to leverage people who are strong players in their fields, and pay rates significantly lower than those charged by advertising agencies. You don’t have to spend the time and energy to assemble your team. You mitigate the risk and expense of hiring full time employees; and you have a single point of contact, Bob, to manage all the complexities.

Why So Niched?

By focusing on a niche within a niche, we can directly apply our depth of experience. Bob Leonard is the managing director of acSellerant. Over a 20 year period, prior to launching acSellerant, Bob held individual contributor and management positions in Corporate Marketing, Field Marketing, Sales and Sales Support at EMC, GTE, Interleaf (document management), and Digital Equipment Corp. All of those positions were focused on the information management spectrum of applications.
